Picture the pickiest eater you know. I've got one. Burgers are usually a safe bet. You can use that as bait.
Depending on your knife skills
These bind everything together
These give it flavor
Time to test out your knife skills. Remove the skin and finely chop your salmon fillet. Chunks are fine. I like chunks... Some image searching for this story informed me that you can also use a food processor to get almost ground salmon. Set aside in a mixing bowl.
I invited my picky eater over, told them there was a backup plan in place but that I hoped we didn't have to use it.
Mix in 2 eggs, mayo (optional for consistency), and spices. Literally all the ingredients. Form into patties. Always salt to taste and balance the honey and lemon juice for preference.
Our picky eater was right on time. We had a very safe salad & potatoes for sides. It was then time to plate..
Get a pan ripping hot, lay down some butter or high temp oil and place patties. Flip in a couple of minutes when a crust forms. Basting is always a bonus.
Our picky eater made sure not to smell or look too hard but ended up eating almost a whole burger. They said it was good. A win in my book.
Serve on a bun, top with more mayo and mustard or your own sauce and enjoy. I am one of the world's bigger fans of cheese, but for what ever reason I don't miss it in this dish.
Our picky eater hasn't asked for salmon burgers again. That's okay because it just means more for me and Em.
